Health benefits of Avocado

If you want to maintain good eyesight, eat avocados
Thanks to a carotenoid called lutein, avocado absorbs ultraviolet rays from the sun, preventing these from damaging the retina. The acids on the pulp also protect the eyes from degeneration and cataracts.
Avocados are a great source of vitamin E. When you consume this vitamin regularly, the body is fully equipped to fight disease. In addition, Vitamin E also revitalizes the skin making it soft and supple thanks to its antioxidant properties.
A portion of this delicious fruit contains a high percentage of folic acid (23%). Folic acid is a vitamin found in green leafy vegetables and its role is to restore overall health.
Avocados are high in beta-sitosterol, a compound that has been shown to keep cholesterol levels low. Avocados contain monounsaturated fat (healthy fat), which reduces LDL cholesterol which is harmful to the body.
